Dennis, one of our installers, celebrated his birthday today. Up until mid-morning none of us had wished Dennis a Happy Birthday. We pretended we forgot all about it. Even though he didn’t say anything, you could tell Dennis was bummed that no one remembered. When we hit a lull in the business, we decided the time was right to pull out the cake we had purchased the night before.

Talk about one happy birthday boy!

Ape HangersThis guy rode by the booth today and I just had to shoot a quick video. I don’t think his bike would fit under our tent if he decided to get some Boogey Lights!

Beaver tells us that the reason he’s getting Boogey Lights is because everyone he spoke to recommended us, including the Harley dealership in Daytona. Listen to him tell us a little about himself and why he selected Boogey Lights to light his Ultra Classic.

Bike Week 2009 is well underway at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona. It appears as though many have decided to sit Bike Week out this year, as the streets aren’t nearly as busy as in previous years. In spite of the overall low turnout, the crowd is showing up at Destination Daytona. The only problem is that people aren’t spending as they have in past years. This is no surprise with the state of our economy.

The biggest problem today wasn’t the economy, it was the rain and strong winds. We started off the day with a bang and then things died down for a few hours driving rain blew through the area. The winds ripped the sides off our small pop-up tent where we display the bike, but they were repaired within an hour by the lady who sews on patches at the event. By mid-afternoon the crowd was back and we were busy again.

I shot a short video of Bruce Rossmeyer, owner of Destination Daytona, riding by the booth on his golf cart.

Vinnie DiMartino, formerly with Orange County Choppers, stopped as he was riding by on his Vespa to pose for a few pictures. Vinnie and sidekick Coty have started a new company called V Force Customs. They’re also exhibiting at Destination Daytona.
